Headaches are very common and have many causes. Although they are a frequent source of stress and anxiety, headaches are only very rarely a sign of serious illness.
There are many different types of headaches, including tension headaches, sinus headaches, migraine headaches and cluster headaches. Knowing what type of headache you have is important so that you get the right treatment.
Tension headaches are the most common type seen at the clinic. Dull aching head pain, tightness or pressure across the forehead, temples or base of the skull, shoulder and/or neck pain are all symptomatic of tension headaches.
